about me

I am a doctoral student in the Department of English and Comparative Literature at the University of Cincinnati. My areas of specialization include Mormon fiction, nineteenth-century American literature, contemporary American fiction, and cultural representations of 19th century America. I also have interests in pop culture and American religious studies. 

My scholarly writing and book reviews have been published in War, Literature, and the Arts, The Edgar Allan Poe Review, The International Journal of Comic Arts, Religion and the Arts, Dialogue: A Journal of Mormon ThoughtIrreantum, and BYU Studies Quarterly. I blog regularly at Modern Mormon MenDawning of a Brighter Day, the official blog of the Association for Mormon Letters; and A Motley Vision: Mormon Literature and Culture.
